Hartley Social Club, a family-friendly institution, has been member-run for almost 90 years, fostering a safe and welcoming environment upheld by shared rules. Please explore noticeboards for information, rules, and guidelines on Club conduct, all while showing respect to fellow members and staff.

Here are some essential member guidelines:

• Members are responsible for supervising their children and guests' children, ensuring they don't disrupt the Club's tranquility ( e.g. no running or jumping on the furniture).

• Under 18s do not require sign-ins.

• Children under 14 are not permitted to play pool without an adult present at the table.

• Prams and similar conveyances are allowed, but they must not obstruct the bar or exits.

• On Saturday evenings with live music, children under 14 should be accompanied by an adult on the dance floor.

• Snooker Room is members only.

• Children under 14 are not permitted in the snooker area at any time.

• Prohibited attire includes swimwear, offensive t-shirts, sleeveless shirts, vests, or singlets. Tops must be worn at all times.

• No one under 18 may use amusement/fruit machines.

• Offensive language is not permitted. 

• Bringing outside drink is prohibited unless authorised by the Club Secretary (e.g for private functions).

• Specific snooker rules and etiquette are posted on the snooker notice board.

• We respect our neighbours; please keep noise to a minimum when entering, leaving, and/or smoking outside in the designated smoking areas.
